Group visits (of minimum 10 – maximum 20 people) can be made from Tuesday to Sunday between 10 am and 5 pm – start time. The bookings for group visits are made with an interval of 30 minutes between groups, in the interests of ensuring an optimum visitors’ experience. The time slot only affects your start time. You can stay as long as you like (we do close at 6 pm).

Groups are kindly requested to book their visit at least seven days in advance. You can cancel your visit up to seven days before the planned date. We will refund. Modifications are possible up until your actual visit. Groups that do not have a booking confirmation do not have guaranteed access on the desired date and time.

You can book your group visit by clicking on ‘order group tickets’. If you desire a tour guide, please contact the organisation directly. You find contact data both on this page of the website and in the ordering system.

Please contact the Caermersklooster (, if your group includes any people with restricted mobility.

For group visits, we advise to assign one contact person. This person is requested to go to the group reception desk. He/she will then be given a badge that he/she is requested to wear for the whole visit.

Ghent-Authentic is a tour guide organisation, specialised in high-quality private tours. Ghent-Authentic designs customized tours and events, which answer to your specific needs.

For the exhibition ‘Birth of Capitalism’ Ghent-Authentic prepared a special arrangement, which combines a visit to the exhibition with a tour through the medieval inner city of Ghent, thus enhancing the overall experience with as common theme Entrepreneurship in the Middle Ages. An exclusive evening event is also an option -see next tab-. This exhibition is a perfect blend between business life (entrepreneurship, innovation, economy) and culture (art, society). Dive deep into the middle ages and emerge as a new person…

Ghent-Authentic works with high-profile, licensed, local guides who not only speak their languages fluently (English, French, German) but also have the knowledge, experience, personality and flexibility to make the most out of your stay in Ghent. Ghent-Authentic can also advise you on every aspect of your stay, from practicalities such as parking possibilities and walking distances, through to restaurants, boat tours, meeting rooms, etc.
